  2. 250 grams paneer chopped in cubicles

  18. 1/2 cube maggi veg nugget
  19. 2 tablespoon brown onion paste
  20. 2 teaspoon Soya sauce
  21. Chilli sauce as per taste
  22. 2 teaspoon Tomato ketchup
  23. Salt as per taste
  24. 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  25. 2 teaspoon plain flour
  26. Few spoons of Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions to make Paneer Chilli

  1. Chop all veggies and paneer and keep ready.
  2. Crush 1/2 nugget of maggi masala and mix in some water and keep it ready too. Fry one sliced onion and blend it into a paste by adding some water.
  3. Mix all the ingredients mentioned in the first section except paneer. Add water only as required. Make a thick batter.
  4. Coat paneer pieces well into the batter and deep fry into the medium hot oil. I have also prepared some mushroom chilli with same batter.
  5. You may also add red food colour to make them look like street style paneer chilli. I like to avoid colour though.
  6. Heat oil in a pan. Add chilli, garlic, ginger paste and onion.
  7. Add capsicum, cabbage and saute well
  8. Add soya sauce, chilli sauce, tomato ketchup, brown onion paste, maggi masala, salt and pepper and mix.
  9. Prepare a slurry by mixing plain flour in few teaspoons of water and add to the above mixture. Cook for few minutes.
  10. Add the fried paneer to the liquid mixture and mix well to coat. Switch off flame. Cover pan with lid for few minutes.
  11. Sprinkle some green onions on top and mix. Use some for garnishing.
  12. Use very good quality paneer for soft Paneer chilli. Other they tend to become rubbery and chewy.
